Biography

A process-based, experimental, and exploratory practice.

Lorna Crane has spent more than four decades investigating painting, printmaking, fibre, vessels, objects, and mark-making from her studio on the far south coast of NSW.

Placeholder for migrated studio or artwork imagery.

"When I walk into my studio I walk into me."

My approach as a professional artist is process based, experimental and exploratory. The search for a sense of uniqueness over the past 40 years is an essential part of my investigations as a painter, printmaker and fibre artist.

Since moving to the far south coast of NSW Australia, my studio practice has given me the opportunity to delve deeper into work that draws from physical and metaphorical landscape.

Current work explores uncommon ways of creating unique 2D work and 3D vessel shapes and forms that embrace ideas of duality, material memory, and tactile mark-making.
